Busy as a Caterpillar
So almost a month has gone by without a peep from me.
I can explain.
See…we got the house!!! Yeah! But it was a very emotional ride. We had it, we didn’t , we had it, we didn’t…so I certainly didn’t want to post until it was a sure thing…which it is now.
So we have been so incredibly busy getting everything ready, packing, moving things, renovating the new house and I have been too completely exhausted to blog about it.
I have learned that no matter how much you plan and organize things never go smoothly. That is hard to swallow.
Some of the issues we have had during this process (and I wont get into we are sold/no sold/sold not sold fiasco)
We got the keys last Friday (March 5th) 1:30 pm. Excited we run straight over to the new house…only to find them still moving out. Home we go, continue to pack and wait. We went back three more times to still find them moving out…ok they have until midnight technically and I am just happy to see they are actually moving their things out (never know with these people what they will/won’t do.
So we go to the moves and check on the house on our way home. Just after 11…no moving truck…in we go. So happy to find the house empty! Appliances were removed from the kitchen (we were really worried they were going to leave those) Basement is empty…garage…FULL! Full wall to wall of their things and all the appliances! Waaaaaaa! So we leave…certainly they are not done and must be on their way back with their truck for another load.
We go back the next morning to find everything still in the garage. We called our wonderful real estate lady (bestest one ever! Honestly she worked her butt off for us) she was on the phone with their agent and was able to get it sorted out. They came back that night to remove the rest of their things.
So we spent the weekend removing the old floors (all of them pretty much) all the staples and baseboards. Also scraping, cleaning and painting the baseboards.
We hired a cleaning company to clean the house for us (me being pregnant and it being nasty seemed the right route to go) Also to remove the wall paper in the two kids rooms.
Well that was a disappointment. They did an awful job! The place is still dirty and sticky. No way hear clean enough. The wallpaper was only half removed. I took pictures to show the owner and demand it was done right.
Ok my mom went there and demanded lol But she used to work for them and knows the owner. They have promised to make it right…I have not heard from them as to when but I checked on the house last night and the wall paper has been removed! Yeah! I hope to be surprised to today and it is all clean!
New floors are being installed and I am very pleased with how they are turning out! The painter starts this weekend and all next week we will be moving in.
So excited! Cannot wait to be settled!
Now that is an update!
